The ads are running, visits are coming in, and the reports say the campaign is doing well. But sales? They haven't moved. It's one of the situations I see most, and the cause is rarely the platform. Usually there is a "leak" somewhere between the ad and the payment.
01First: see where customers drop
Before changing anything, map the customer's path in numbers. People drop at every step; what matters is where the biggest drop is.
The numbers above are an example. Open your reports and put in your own; the step with the biggest drop is the first thing to fix.
02The seven most common causes
1. The ad promises one thing and the page says another
The customer clicked a specific offer and landed on the home page or a general page. He feels lost and leaves.
2. The page is slow on mobile
Most visitors are on phones and on mobile networks, not office Wi-Fi. Every second of waiting loses people before they see anything.
3. No reason to buy today
Without a clear offer or a real difference, he says "I'll think about it" and closes. He usually doesn't come back.
4. Too many steps to order
Forced sign-up, a ten-field form, phone confirmation before he even sees the price. Every extra step loses people.
5. Nothing reassures him
No reviews, no clear return policy, no contact number. A new customer doesn't know you, so he needs a reason to trust you.
6. The wrong audience
The ad reaches people who like the content but don't need the product. You get lots of cheap visits and few orders.
7. Broken tracking
Sometimes sales exist but aren't recorded. You think the campaign is losing when it is winning, or the reverse, and the platform learns on wrong data.
03How do you know which one is yours?
High click rate and almost no sales
The page, the offer or the speed
A weak click rate from the start
The ad itself or the audience
People add to cart but don't pay
Checkout steps or surprise costs (shipping, for example)
More sales in the store than in the platform
Tracking
